CCAR Recovery Coach/Trainer/Supervisor Training in Colorado

1) Recovery Coach Academy Training

CCAR Core Training & 10 Continuing Education Modules

  •  We hope to meet all your training needs whether you want to  become a recovery coach,
  • or for those who may already be working in  this field and wish to elevate their skills.
  •  CCAR trainings are designed  to be delivered in a retreat like setting, are uniquely experiential  and rely on the experts in the room—you!
  • PCA's  staff of trainers model what we want to see in recovery coaches -  ones ability to:  actively listen, ask good questions and manage our  own stuff.
  •  It may sound quite simple, and yet, being able to achieve  this goal takes skill to balance the Art and Science of recovery  coaching.
  • Our trainings cover both, so you not only walk away with the  skills needed, but with the ability to practice all while fine tuning  your ART!
  • 4 day agenda - Recovery Coach training overview- TOT overview available for download below
  • All PCA trainings are approved for professional credential requirements.

2)  Become a Trainer-

PCA Training of Trainers (TOT)

  • Each of the CCAR Curriculums has been designed to have an  accompanying Train the Trainer component. Interested participants can  attend the Train the Trainers immediately following any one of our  programs.
  •  If you have prior training or facilitation experience, you may be  interested learning what it takes to train one of our curriculums. Time  at one of our Train the Trainer programs is spent reviewing the  curriculum in great detail, taking good care to ensure each participant  is comfortable and feels confident to lead the training.
  • Once  participants have successfully the TOT program, they will be required to  sign an agreement which outlines all the logistics necessary to  purchase manuals, register trainings, etc. Trainers are provided with  all training materials, slides, videos, etc. We take great pride in  providing additional TA and support if necessary.

3) Recovery Coach Professionals (RCP)

Certification, Colorado State Peer Credential, NAADAC Peer Credential, RCP

  • RCP's promote recovery by serving  as a personal guide and removing barriers to recovery for people  seeking or already in recovery.  The focus is always on the individual.
  •  The goal of the Recovery Coach Professional (RCP) is to help individuals reach their full potential in recovery.  To that end, Recovery Coach Professional (RCP) must maintain high standards of ethics and personal conduct.
  • Serving as a Motivator and Cheerleader, Ally and Confidant,  Truth-Teller, Role-Model and Mentor, Problem-Solver, Resource Broker,  Advocate, Community Organizer, Life Style Consultant, Friend and  Companion, Recovery Coaches Professionals (RCP) will be skilled at “staying in their lane” and refer individuals to appropriate services as needed.

4)  CCAR Coachervision- (Coach Your Vision)

Peer Supervision is Essential for Self-Care

  •  Recovery coaching is growing as a profession due to its effectiveness  in not only helping people find recovery, but staying in recovery. We  see coaches deployed in a wide variety of settings and as such, coaches  are supervised by a wide range of positions…and not everyone who is  overseeing the coaches understands fully the unique nature of the role.  In many cases, we see Peer Supervision models as an attempt that does  not truly align with the recovery coaching model?
  • We hope you will join us for what we believe is a model for oversight  that resonates most with the role of the coach – aptly named, Coachervision.  Based on the concept of “coaching coaches”, this workshop will provide  participants with an understanding of how to best support coaches  day-to-day and develop coaches for long-term success.
  • Participants in this two-day workshop will:

  • Define expectations of Recovery Coach oversight
    • Understand the complexity and intricacy of the Recovery Coach role
    • Understand how organizational culture can support a Coachervision model
    • Learn the importance of accountability for both the Coachervisor and Recovery Coach
    • How to support Recovery Coaches in professional settings

  • PCA can provide Monthly or Weekly Supervision for your peer staff members- or provide CCAR driven training to support your supervisors to maintain the non-clinical aspect of your peer staff in tact.
  • By using the same roles as a Recovery Coach Professional, you can meet your recovery coach staff where they are and continue to develop their skills.  We believe in Coachervision.

5) Telephone Recovery Support TRS

  • TRS  is an innovative, peer-to-peer support service.
  •  Trained volunteers  that are, in many cases, in recovery themselves, make  weekly calls to  “check in” and see how people are doing.
  •  Recoverees are  offered  support; encouragement and information about resources that may  help  them maintain their recovery.
  • The beauty is in the simplicity. TRS  helps people  stay in recovery.
  •  Sometimes just a phone call can make  someone feel  wanted, cared about and included. Dare, we say “loved”.
  •  When making the  call, the volunteer will feel rewarded when they have  spoken with  someone. They share in joys and sorrows, triumphs and  setbacks. They  have the satisfaction of giving back, of making a  difference. It’s a  classic win-win scenario.
